Celebrating O Luxe Design
The process of reinvention is never easy, especially for a team that had grown accustomed to operating in away it always had. However when the time came for Orchids N Blooms to evolve into something bigger and better, we knew exactly how we would begin the transition and how we would celebrate it.
After six months of brainstorming, meetings, webmastering, designing logos, and late nights refining the new business plan, O Luxe Design was born! The new brand is meant to be very urban chic and to represent all of the things our team values: color, style, and a design aesthetic that is as far from archetypal as possible.
With the above in mind, the time eventually came to celebrate our rebirth and so one winter night, we set out to host a welcome party for industry friends new and old.
For the first time in months, the event set before us was not a wedding and for the first time in months, we had carte blanche to design with any color we wanted. So we came up with a palette that we knew would give our guests life and off we went designing statement pieces in hues that were super fun.
Where is the sport in featuring design that guests actually expect? So in the spirit of all things whimsical, we made sure to have a little fun.
Our love of fairytales and mythological creatures eventually led to the inclusion of a floral nymph that traversed the party, serving as both a photo opp and a conversation piece.
The next order of business was to come up with a creative alternative to the traditional photo booth. So after a lot of sketching and tossing ideas around, we decided on an open-air "Get Cozy" photo station, which was really a staged bedroom scene with queen-sized bed and sampling of teddy bears.
At first we were unsure of how well-received the set would be. However after not too long, guests began to hop in and take photos/selfies of their own. Can you tell they had a blast?
By this point there was little left to do except throw in some excellent music, delicious bites, and some colorful mood lighting. Even many weeks later, our guests still message us about all the fun they hand.
Much of our success we owe to the counterparts and colleagues who have always believed in us. To them we say "thank you", especially for supporting us through our evolution into what is now the "O Luxe" brand. We are looking forward to journeying through 2017 (and beyond!) with all of you, especially as there is so many amazing events ahead to look.
So stay tuned Boston, we're coming for ya! And if we do say so ourselves, for the rest of the world too. ✌
